Lorne Millar, born July 3, 1924, passed away peacefully at St Joseph's after a brief illness.
Predeceased by his wife Vivien in 1996, his father David McIntosh Millar, mother Lura May, 3 brothers; Kenneth, Harold, Hugh, and sister Margaret twin to brother Hugh.
Left to mourn his passing, his niece Beverly (Duncan) Badger of Calgary, nephews Douglas (Jane) Olshewski of Oak Bluff, Manitoba, Brian (Elaine) Olshewski, West St. Paul, Manitoba. Granddaughter Pamela Williams of Calgary, Alberta.
Step children Brian (Rita) Williams of Charlottetown, PEI, Patricia (Wally) Snyder of Pine Lake, AB, and Valerie Kuntz of Calgary, AB. Best friends and neighbours for over 30 years, Steve and Cathy Butcher and family; and longtime family friend Wayne Jervis, I could not have made it this far without you guys.
Lorne will be remembered for his expertise in lawn mower and small engine repair, a hobby he enjoyed for many years.
In his later years, Lorne took to growing and delivering thousands of Dahlia blooms, to St. Joseph's Hospital, The Views, Glacier View Lodge and other senior retirement homes. Delivering flowers to these homes was always a pleasure, as they were so much appreciated by the patients, the nurses and other employees as well as the hospital visitors.
At Lorne's request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
