The Sustainable Action group for the Environment (SAGE) and the Comox Valley Unitarian Fellowship are sponsoring a five-part course on how to be active in implementing solutions to climate change.
鈥淒rawdown鈥� is defined as the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline.
GHG reduction is critical to the process of stopping further climate change (CC) and its catastrophic effects. Respected scientists and researchers from Project Drawdown have concluded that this is an attainable goal with the technology we have today, but requires action at many levels (personal, industrial and all levels of government).
The United Nation鈥檚 International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has determined that we must reduce GHG鈥檚 50 per cent by 2030 and be carbon neutral by 2050 to have a chance to reverse CC.
