The Sustainable Action group for the Environment (SAGE) and the Comox Valley Unitarian Fellowship are sponsoring a five-part course on how to be active in implementing solutions to climate change.
“Drawdown’ is defined as the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline.
GHG reduction is critical to the process of stopping further climate change (CC) and its catastrophic effects. Respected scientists and researchers from Project Drawdown have concluded that this is an attainable goal with the technology we have today, but requires action at many levels (personal, industrial and all levels of government).
The United Nation’s International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has determined that we must reduce GHG’s 50 per cent by 2030 and be carbon neutral by 2050 to have a chance to reverse CC.
This will be a virtual course and will be highly interactive rather than just instructional. It will be 9:30 – 11 a.m. on all Saturdays in February and on March 13. To register or for more information, send an email to sage@comoxunitedchurch.com
