On June 29, Bigfoot Donuts and the Comox Valley Hospice Society (CVHS) will be helping to raise awareness with a fun Hearts for Hospice Donut Day.
Bigfoot Donuts at 477 5th Street in Courtenay is a huge supporter of the community, and their special donut days are legendary. Come in between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to enjoy a heart-shaped donut (while they last), say hello to some smiling CVHS volunteers, and learn more about the many ways CVHS works to ease the journey of dying and grieving in the community.
The new colourful “Hearts for Hospice” photo board will be on site so you can have your picture taken, and get a personalized heart in memory of someone you love.
Bigfoot is donating proceeds from the donuts to CVHS and additional donations are appreciated.
Hospice care is not just a place, it’s a philosophy that explores ways to support those who are at the end of life as well as those who care for them. The Comox Valley Hospice Society offers emotional, psychological, and spiritual support in people’s homes, in hospital, and at the new Aitken Community Hospice. Services include individual and family counselling, visiting programs and volunteer peer support, grief and caregiver support groups, walking groups, self-care clinics, and a lending library.
The CVHS office is located at Ocean Front Village at 2900 Cliffe Ave., adjacent to the Aitken Community Hospice. For more information, visit comoxhospice.com or on Facebook at facebook.com/ComoxHospice.
