Courtenay and District Fish and Game announce bursaries

Four students received bursaries towards their university education

Courtenay and District Fish & Game Protective Association Bursary Committee gave out four bursaries this year.

The Courtenay and District Fish & Game Protective Association Bursary Committee selected four worthy graduates from quite a few applications.

Thanks to the Committee of Marlene Sawchuck, Becky Walters and Barb Gillis, congratulations go to the following recipients of $2500 each for the 2025 Bursary Year.

Kyra Aplocins: (Isfeld) is off to UVIC to study Geography/Environmental Studies and hopes to become a Park Ranger to pursue her love of the outdoors.

Ryan Nasadyk: (Highland) will study Environmental Resource Management at SFU and enjoys fishing, biology and has participated in the provincial wrestling championships.

Ikhide Otoadese: (Highland) is off to study Sustainable Engineering at UBC and has worked with Project Watershed and GenSea while in high school.

Hailey Darnel: (Vanier) is a member dependent and will be attending UVIC to become an elementary school teacher with her love of learning, inspiring, along with great marks.

Congratulations to all four lucky students on their pursuits in higher education.
