Following the lead of its sister parish in Comox, St. John the Divine Anglican Church has opened a Blessings Boutique in Courtenay.
The boutique provides clothing, housewares and other donated items free of charge to those who need them. The initiative also aims to reduce environmental damage by reusing surplus items.
St. Peter鈥檚 Anglican Church in Comox started a Blessings Boutique in November.
鈥淭his is two Anglican churches working together,鈥� St. Peter鈥檚 rector Sulin Milne said at the Jan. 10 opening at St. John鈥檚.
The Courtenay boutique runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays at St. John the Divine at 579 5th St.
The Comox boutique is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays at St. Peter鈥檚 at 218 Church St.
