The Courtenay and District Museum will celebrate Canada’s 156th birthday with an open house event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1.

The Courtenay and District Museum will celebrate Canada’s 156th birthday with an open house event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1.

Guests of all ages are welcome and can enjoy music by local musician Alan Jossul and participate in kids’ crafts, courtesy of the museum staff.

While you’re visiting, you can check out the new summer exhibit “Dressed for the Occasion” which features wedding dresses from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Canada Day is a great chance to explore history at the museum.
