The proposed area for upgrades along Penrith Avenue in Cumberland.

Penrith Avenue in Cumberland is a key route for people walking, biking and driving in the community. The Village of Cumberland invites the public to have their say into the final design, which will be shared in the fall of 2025.

Cumberland is upgrading the section between First Street to Third Street to enhance safety, improve accessibility, and ensure it meets both current and future community needs.

In addition to surface improvements, there will be upgrading to underground utilities to enhance service reliability and reduce maintenance needs. The current infrastructure is aging and requires renewal to support long-term community growth.

On July 15, 2025, there is an information session from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the corner of First Street and Penrith Avenue. The Village of Cumberland invites the community out to share their thoughts.

The community can also share its input by taking the survey at: .
