The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) invites the public to explore the Comox Lake Watershed during Watershed Awareness Days, running May 27 to 31, 2025. Through guided walks, talks, and family activities, residents and visitors can learn how this necessary ecosystem supports our drinking water.
The Comox Lake Watershed, located in the unceded territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, supplies water to over 50,000 people. Despite a long history of industrial use and recreation, protecting this watershed remains essential to maintaining safe, clean water.

“Healthy ecosystems produce high-quality drinking water,” says Zoe Norcross-Nu’u, CVRD’s Watershed Protection Coordinator. “What we do on the land and in the water directly affects the watershed’s health. By working together, we can keep protecting the Comox Lake Watershed for generations to come.”
The CVRD’s Connected by Water program, developed through the Comox Lake Watershed Protection Plan, works with local partners to support education, stewardship, and water conservation.
