Dr. John Yim is coming to speak in Courtenay on April 13 with a presentation called Natural Defense in a Toxic World that was a hit last month in Nanaimo with more than 70 attendees.
The Nanaimo doctor will speak at 7 p.m. at the Comox Valley Curling banquet room. His free presentation will benefit Red Cross relief efforts in Japan.
In his presentation, Yim will talk about the prevalence of toxins that are around us — from hydrocarbons to automobile emissions, heavy metals and radioactive waste — as well as their link to serious conditions and disease, such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, allergies, cancer, thyroiditis and asthma.
The naturopathic physician will discuss how to flush toxins from the tissues, how to flush heavy metals and radiation from the body and how to use your skin for wellness.
In addition, he will address valid concerns about the Japan radiation leaks and how West Coast residents can be affected. The use of potassium iodine as a precaution for radiation exposure will also be discussed.
There is no fee for this presentation, but a donation is requested. All proceeds raised this evening will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross relief funds to help those in Japan.
Darlene Goodrick — also known as the Max Lady (www.MaxLady.com), an Independent Associate of Max International — is sponsoring this event and has donated her time and prizes to help with the fundraising.
Prizes have also been donated by BodyNetix Professional Fitness Training.
