LUSH Valley Food Action Society invites the Comox Valley to come together to celebrate 25 years of Sharing the Harvest on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Florence Filberg Centre.
LUSH Valley鈥檚 Harvest Social is part harvest celebration, part community fundraiser, and all about gathering in good company. The evening will feature cocktails and mocktails infused with local, seasonal ingredients, local beer and wine, and a buffet dinner prepared by LUSH Valley Catering in partnership with The Farmer鈥檚 Kitchen Food Truck. Each dish will be a celebration of Comox Valley鈥檚 farmers, crafted from local ingredients to showcase the rich flavours and abundance of our region, and tell a story about our community, the crops that grow here and the folks that grow them.
The fun won鈥檛 stop at the table: throughout the night, attendees will enjoy timeless fair games like cornhole, browse a silent auction for locally-crafted goodies, bid on raffle items, and tap their toes to live music thanks to local musicians and farmers, The Broadfork Duo.
Early bird tickets are available until Aug. 31 for $115. From Sept. 1, tickets are $140. Tax receipts will be issued in early 2026 for 35 per cent of the ticket price.
Since 2000, LUSH Valley Food Action Society has been working to support community wellbeing in the Comox Valley through nourishing, local food. The need for the non-profit鈥檚 programs is greater than ever, but rising costs and a decrease in available grant funding continue to create financial pressure. LUSH aims to raise $30,000 through this event towards their goal of ensuring equitable access to nourishing, local food in the Comox Valley.
Support of this event will help ensure LUSH Valley can continue to support the Comox Valley community through various programs including the Good Food Box, Hot Meals, Healthy Student Meals, Urban Agriculture, Fruit Tree & Farm Gleaning, and Community Kitchens.
