Operation Freedom Paws Canada is inviting Comox Valley residents out for a burger and beer to help match rescue dogs with veterans, first responders, and individuals living with disabilities.

The event, called Paws for Summer, includes a silent auction and a wall of wine. Every dollar raised goes directly to training, vet care, and supporting life-changing service dog partnerships.

"From local experiences and artisan goods to our ever-popular Wall of Wine, there’s something for everyone — and every bid brings hope," a release from the group says.

The event will be on Aug. 16 from 4:30 until 7:30 at the OFPC Training Centre in Fanny Bay. The address is 403 Holiday Road. Those who can't attend, but still want to make a difference can donate an item or service or become a monthly donor.
