The Great Canadian Trolley Company (GCTC) has officially arrived in Comox, launching its highly anticipated Hop On-Hop Off Comox Trolley Tour this Saturday during Summer Fest in downtown Comox.
This heritage-style trolley will offer residents and visitors alike a fresh, fun, and flexible way to explore the best of downtown Comox, the marina, and surrounding attractions throughout the summer.
The trolley tour is the result of business retention and expansion efforts by the Comox Business in Action (BIA), and part of a broader initiative to support downtown’s economic recovery and growth, particularly impacted by the recent sewer conveyance construction.
From boutique shopping and museums, parks to paddleboard rentals and whale watching adventures, the tour connects people to the full suite of summer experiences in Comox.
The Town’s senior staff and Public Works team has been busily preparing the ‘stops’ to support the San Francisco style trolley as it travels through Comox, “The trolley experience represents more than a unique way to explore Comox -it’s a sign of the momentum,we as a community, are building together.” said Mayor Nicole Minions. “We’re proud and excited to support new initiatives that elevate our local businesses, foster tourism and enhance the charm and vibrancy of our town by the sea.”
The first trolley tour of its kind on Vancouver Island, the BIA has played a key role in encouraging the GCTC to consider Comox for its latest expansion, working closely with local partners and businesses to bring the vision to life.

We see the trolley tour as an innovative way to connect people, tell our story, and support our local economy through a tough period. We can’t thank them nor the Town of Comox enough for jumping aboard.”
The trolley, operated by professional drivers from Ambassador Transportation, is already drawing interest from a wide array of sponsors and supporters. These include restaurants, attractions, professional services and retailers who are excited to share Comox’s charm with visitors aboard a trolley full of vintage character.
