Joe's Garage hosting songwriting finals

Once again, the Cowichan Folk Guild is sponsoring the Islands Songwriting Contest.

Once again, the Cowichan Folk Guild is sponsoring the Islands Songwriting Contest.

The North Island Regional Finals will take place this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Joe's Garage in Courtenay. Comox Valley songstress Sue Pyper will be the host. Songwriters chosen for the regional final will perform their songs for the audience, who will vote to select the top three finalists.

Those lucky contestants will again perform their song in the contest finals to be held during the Islands Folk Festival July 22 to 24 in Duncan.

Everyone is welcome to attend this very special event.

Tickets are $5 per person, which entitles you to vote in the contest.
