A train hit Taylor Corriveau's stalled car and pushed it along the tracks in Chilliwack on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Now a co-worker has started a fundraiser to help her replace the vehicle.

The stalled car propelled down the tracks by the force of a train in Chilliwack is a complete write-off.

Taylor Corriveau's friend and co-worker has started a fundraiser to replace her vehicle that failed her just as a train was coming on July 17, and forced her to jump to safety with her dog, Moka.

"Thankfully, she was able to save her dog from the car before the train came, but her car is literally written off," according to Jocelyn Helland, who launched the GoFundMe on July 22 on Corriveau's behalf.

Corriveau made a point of thanking the people who helped her and her dog after the terrifying ordeal, including the train conductor who gave her dog some water.

She escaped serious injury in the incident by leaping from her car, but the train could not stop in time and ended up forcefully pushing the vehicle down the tracks.

It had stalled near the crossing at First Avenue and Prest Road.

Corriveau is described as a single mother with two young children who moved from Prince George and now works in early-childhood education in Chilliwack.

"I am wondering if there is an angel amongst this community that has an extra working vehicle they are willing to gift to Taylor and her children.

"Having a special-needs child is not easy so having a vehicle to get her children to and from daycare and school and getting herself to and from work just became a whole lot more difficult.

Helland said she started the fundraiser since Corriveau "is really struggling, and does not have the resources or funds to buy a replacement vehicle."

The donated funds will go to purchase a used vehicle if one cannot be donated to the cause. The goal is to raise $4,500.

"Please donate to this selfless, wonderful woman and her children."

The has this as its headline, 'Single mom escaped train but her car did not pls donate.'
