Canadian volunteer killed in Ukraine to be honoured with Ukrainian Canadian Sacrifice Medal

Bradley Kenneth Stratford, of British Columbia, served with Ukraine’s International Legion. He was killed in action in November 2023 in Donetsk oblast fighting in defence of Ukraine’s freedom.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) and the Ukrainian War Veterans Association of Canada (UWVA) are honoured to announce that the Ukrainian Canadian Sacrifice Medal will be presented to the family of Fallen Hero Bradley Stratford.

Bradley Kenneth Stratford, of British Columbia, served with Ukraine’s International Legion. He was killed in action in November 2023 in Donetsk oblast fighting in defence of Ukraine’s freedom. He was 57 years old.

Established by a Resolution of the XXVII Triennial Congress of Ukrainian Canadians in Winnipeg in fall, 2022, the Ukrainian Canadian Sacrifice Medal honours Canadian citizens who have been killed or wounded in action, serving with Ukraine’s Armed Forces in defence of Ukraine’s freedom against Russia’s genocidal war.

The event will be on June 28 at 1 p.m. at the Officer's Mess, 19 Wing, Comox.
