On May 21, the Comox Valley RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Hope Road in Cumberland as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
During the search, police arrested two people and seized several different substances believed to be illicit drugs including fentanyl, Canadian currency, a taser, and various items consistent with what investigators believe to be drug trafficking.
“The execution of this search warrant serves to deliver a clear message – If you engage in drug trafficking, harbour or invite this type of activity, we will stop you. The community and its residents are tired of unlawful activities that are occurring in plain sight.” Said Inspector Mercer, Officer in Charge of the Comox Valley RCMP. “Cumberland will not tolerate drug trafficking and is closed for business”.
The investigation remains ongoing while police continue to examine all the evidence.
