The Comox Valley fire departments are following the lead of BC Wildfire Service and will issue a category two and three burning ban, effective Friday, May 30 at noon. The ban is specific to open fires of a certain height, width and area.
This ban applies to all properties within the CVRD鈥檚 Fire Protection Areas including Hornby and Denman Islands, as well as properties within the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland, and Ships Point Fire Protection Area. As a standard practice, please check in with your local area fire department to confirm what regulations apply to you.

At this time, fireworks permits in the Comox Valley Regional District will not be issued.
