Since opening in the brand-new Palace Place last fall, has quietly built something special – a pharmacy where friendly, local care is at the heart of everything they do.
Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Justine and Simon McPhedran, this independent pharmacy has quickly become a trusted part of the downtown community.
“We wanted to create a space where people feel comfortable asking questions and getting support,” Justine says. “It’s about more than prescriptions – it’s about connection.”
Simon, a pharmacist with over 10 years of experience, says that personalized care is what makes the difference.
“People come in looking for advice, not just a quick pickup,” he says. “We take the time because it matters.”
The team also includes a long-time pharmacy assistant with more than 20 years of experience – Wendy Mcbride, is a familiar face to many who walk through the door.
“Wendy is known and loved around town,” Justine says. “She brings so much heart to our team, we are lucky to have her.”
Pharmasave Courtenay offers services tailored to the community’s needs, including blister packing, travel consultations, vaccines, and .
Pharmacists are now authorized to prescribe for a range of minor ailments, a capability Courtenay Pharmasave is leveraging to address the needs of a growing population in the Comox Valley and fill existing gaps in primary care services.
Pharmasave Courtenay is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays and holidays.
“We know parking downtown can be challenging at times, so we offer free same-day delivery in Courtenay and Comox,” Justine adds.
