The Town of Comox kicks off summer on June 28 as Comox Business in Action (Comox BIA) presents the.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., this free, family-friendly event will transform downtown into a pedestrian hub.
“Downtown Comox has faced some acute economic challenges with the construction of the Sewer Conveyance project," says Susan Wood, events producer with Downtown Comox. “The importance of shopping and supporting local businesses has never been so vital. Downtown businesses and the people who frequent them, create our year round culture and vibrancy – the two go hand in hand.”

Summer Fest 2025 features nearly 70 local crafters and artisans showcasing their creations along Comox Avenue. Shoppers can expect everything from pottery and jewellery to candles, custom soaps and more – all crafted by local hands.
Festival-goers can also experience the many micro events happening throughout the day, including live demonstrations, special menu offerings from local eateries and exciting giveaways from local businesses.
Live performances will take place throughout the day at the Quantum Dental Entertainment Stage, with a lineup that includes:
- 10 to 10:30 a.m. – Ukulele Morning with Anela Kahiamoe and Craig Stewart
- 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. – Country rock by Moonshine
- 12 to 1 p.m. – Blues with Daryll Duus and the Gentlemen of Leisure
- 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. – Dance hits from The Optimists
- 3to4:30 p.m. – New Orleans-style music by Mardi Gras Mambo
Family-friendly activities and accessibility
Beyond the music and market, Summer Fest offers plenty for families. Kids can enjoy a bouncy castle and face painting, and the Comox Community Centre will host a scavenger hunt and additional child-friendly games and activities.

“We have accessible washrooms, and BC Transit is working with us to accommodate the road closures, ensuring everyone can participate,” Wood says.
The festival is made possible with support from the Downtown Comox BIA in partnership with the Town of Comox, as well as local business sponsors, including Comox Centre, Quantum Dental Group, CR Lawyers, Comox Community Credit Union, Comox Valley Airport and Tidal Café.
“It’s going to be a wonderful day for our community,” Wood says. "We’re excited to welcome everyone downtown to have a great time and enjoy everything Comox has to offer.”
