From Jan. 23-29, the Comox Valley RCMP responded to nine calls for theft from vehicles. The majority of these calls were received from Comox this week. Items taken from the vehicles included cash, debit cards, gift cards, clothing, an iPod Shuffle, cellphones and personal paperwork. The Comox Valley RCMP reminds residents to ensure your vehicle is locked if you leave it parked for any length of time. Always ensure you do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.
Jelly bean theft
A mischief to a candy machine located at a business on the 300 block of Old Island Highway, was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on Jan. 23. During the afternoon, two unknown males had damaged the machine and stolen its contents, jelly beans. The Integrated Forensic Identification Section is assisting with this investigation. (2018-1106)
Laundering money
On Jan. 24, RCMP received a report of a break, enter and theft at an apartment complex, located on the 400 block of 19 Street. During the evening hours of Jan. 22, an unknown male had broken into the laundry room door, and stolen an undisclosed amount of change. Damage was sustained to the door and the laundry facilities. Broken window
A business window that had been broken was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on Jan. 26. The mischief had occurred sometime overnight, to a business located on the 300 block of 12th Street, in Courtenay. (2018-1224)
Longboard, tool belt taken
The Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a property theft on Jan. 26. According to the report, over the previous few days, a Sector 9 longboard and a tool utility belt were stolen from a damaged shed, located on the 4600 block of Headquarters Road. (2018-1244)
Smashed glass door
On Jan. 27, a mischief to a business glass door, located on the 200 block of Anderton Road, was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP. Sometime overnight, an unknown person had broken the glass door of the business. (2018-1281)
Electronics lifted
A residential break, enter and theft was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on Jan. 27. The residence, located on the 1400 block of Fitzgerald Avenue in Courtenay was entered, and several home electronics, including two gaming systems and a camera were stolen. (2018-1290)
Graffiti in Comox
Mischief to a building was reported on Jan. 29. Sometime over the weekend, unknown person(s) had caused damage to a building, located on the 1400 block of Noel Avenue, in Comox, by painting on it. (2018-1364)
