The theft of a boat was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on March 25. The boat had been parked overnight on the 4800 block of Island Highway North, in Courtenay. The boat is a 1992 white, 23’ fibreglass Gulfstream, on a grey Roadrunner trailer. The boat has the name ‘Grady-White’ on it, as well as two, 175 HP Evenrude outboard motors, a 9.9 HP Yamaha Kicker motor and a blue canvas tarp. The boat trailer is bearing British Columbia licence plate UXC91C. Pebbled glass
The Comox Valley RCMP received a mischief to a vehicle report on March 20. Sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) had thrown a rock a vehicle that had been parked on the 600 block of Williams Road, in Courtenay. The rock damaged the windshield and hood of the vehicle. (2018-3559)
Speed demons
On March 21, while conducting speed enforcement on Highway 19, in the Union Bay Area, a vehicle was found to be traveling at 180 km/h in the posted 120 km/h speed zone. The driver was issued an excessive speed ticket, and the vehicle was impounded. (2018-3623)
The next day, Comox Valley RCMP clocked a vehicle doing 120km/h on Ryan Road (60 km/h zone). Municipal Traffic officer located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Ryan Road. The driver was issued an excessive speed violation ticket and the vehicle was impounded. (2018-3683)
Later that evening, a vehicle was clocked travelling 100 km/h on Cliffe Avenue, in Courtenay, in the posted 50 km/h speed zone. A traffic stop ensued, and Mounties found the driver had consumed alcohol before driving. As a result, the driver was issued a three-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and received a violation ticket for excessive speed. The vehicle was also impounded. (2018-3737)
Beer sign heist
A theft under $5,000 was reported to the Comox Valley RCMP on March 24. It was reported that the Forbidden Brewing Co., located on the 1500 block of Cliffe Avenue, had its sign stolen sometime in the previous few days. The metal sign is described to be black with white lettering. The sign was attached to the front of the business and had to be unscrewed to be removed. Unwanted paint job
A mischief to a building was reported on March 24th. Sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) had spray-painted an empty building located on the 800 block of Cumberland Road, in Courtenay. (2018-3781)
Smashed glass door
The Comox Valley RCMP responded to an alarm at a business located on the 2200 block of Guthrie Road, in Comox during the late evening hours of March 26th. Upon attendance, it was found that the glass front door to the business had been smashed. (2018-3896)
