The public is not at risk after a tense early morning as police worked to remove a man barricaded “with an edged weapon” in a Langford home on Tuesday (March 11).

West Shore RCMP were called shortly before 3 a.m. for man holed up in a residence in the 3000-block of Jacklin Road where officers including the Vancouver Island RCMP Emergency response team negotiated the man out of the home. He was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported, West Shore RCMP said in a news release.

“We thank the public for their patience as police worked and came to a safe resolution. As this investigation is ongoing there is no further information that can be released at this time,” the release reads.
