Senior governments are contributing money to a water treatment project that will help remove seasonal boil water advisories for a number of properties on Denman Island.
The federal portion is $798,000 while the B.C. government is kicking in $664,933. The Comox Valley Regional District is contributing $532,067.
鈥淭his is another great news (story) for Denman Island, and we thank the Government of Canada and province of B.C. for their contributions,鈥� said Daniel Arbour, Area A director of the CVRD.
In the coming weeks and months, he said district staff will engage with Graham Lake trustees and Denman residents 鈥渢o make this the best project possible.鈥�
The treatment plant is one of four water/wastewater projects planned in B.C. On Tuesday, Dec. 21, government announced more than $19.2 million in joint funding for the projects.
