Two-car MVA north of Courtenay

Accident took place after 7 a.m. on the Old Island Highway

Emergency personnel responded to a two-car accident north of Courtenay shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

The accident occured on Highway 19A near Courtenay Country Market and involved a red Hyundai and blue Toyota. The front end of each vehicle suffered major damage.

Courtenay Fire Deparment, RCMP and ambulance personnel attended the scene. Firefighters conducted traffic, which was down to one lane alternating. There was no information about the condition of the drivers or the cause of the accident, but the Record has contacted the RCMP for more details.
