Betty passed away peacefully on October 12th at the age of 93. She was born on September 20, 1930, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, the daughter of James and Ellen Aston. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Fisher, in 1989.
Betty is survived by her son, James Fisher (Lynn) and daughter, Debbie Haynes as well as grandchildren Michael Fisher (Colby), Jordan Fisher (Shannon), Jennifer Duff (Cory), Taylor Haynes (Kristi) and Lynsey Haynes and great-grandsons Linden, Connor and Joey.
Betty enjoyed an active working career with office and bookkeeping duties at the Bank of Commerce, Brammal and Mason, Nib Johnston Motors, and English Car Centre. She was a former member of the Evergreen Seniors Club and the Ocean Waves Square Dance Club. Betty loved travelling to many international destinations and to go camping amidst the beauty of Vancouver Island. She was an avid reader and a passionate gardener. She can rest peacefully now as her last days were spent getting her plants and garden ready for the winter.
The family will be planning a Celebration of Life in the spring, date to be determined. Donations can be made in Betty's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
