In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to husband, father, grandfather, and friend Donald "Bruce" Henderson.
Bruce had a variety of jobs but was most proud of his work as a foreman on the Mica Creek Dam and as a safety inspection officer with the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) in Williams Lake in 1972 then Comox in 1979. He was very well respected in this role.
Bruce had many hobbies over the years: gardening, hunting, sailing and golf. His passion wasn't just the hobby, but learning all he could - to do it right. He made his own shotgun shells, rebuilt his first sailboat and customized golf clubs. He was a long-standing member of Glacier Greens Golf Club. He was always acquiring new techniques to improve his golf game and loved sharing what he learned.
After retirement Bruce and Bernice cherished snow birding to Arizona and California and spent many winters down south exploring and golfing.
Bruce told the best jokes, always getting the punchline just right. He was passionate about discussing politics, always ready to enlighten us about the latest news. He was intelligent, witty, wise and had a keen memory.
Bruce leaves to mourn his wife and best friend, Bernice, his children Michelle (Randy), Don and Lisa, grandchildren Tabatha, Tony, Dominic, Cody, and Travis.
Bruce is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Gladys and brother Grant.
He will forever be in our hearts.
There will be no service as requested by Bruce.
