1941-2017

Evelyn Wright passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, Jan 10th at Glacier View Lodge.

Predeceased by her parents Alex and Alieen Peters, brothers Edward and Lester, and son Derek Wright.

She leaves behind her husband Daryl, sons Colin and Curtis (Bonnie), grandchildren Bowen, Casey, Cooper and Brinley, sister Brenda (Harold), brothers Larry (Gladys) and Tim, along with many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was born in Bonnyville, Alberta and later living in St. Paul. Evelyn worked with Alberta Government Telephones as a long distant operator with midnight chats leading to a blind date and marriage to Daryl in 1965.

The RCAF became part of her family and the couple soon moved to Chatham, NB in 1966. There three sons were born and another move to Comox in 1973. Then one more move to Summerside, PEI in 1980 and finally home to Comox in 1981.

Evelyn loved music whether playing the accordion, piano, organ at home or singing with Sweet Adelines.

She enjoyed helping the many customers at Francis Jewellers for 20 years and was a very astute buyer of fine jewelry. Of course, gardening became her biggest passion, along with baking and serving tea and goodies to anyone who would walk with her through the garden. Her garden was also on garden tours and visits for weddings and to raise money for the cancer fund.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Glacier View Lodge for their endless hours of care and kindness towards Evelyn. To our many friends and relatives thank you for the support during Evelyn’s final years.

A Celebration of Life to be announced later.
