In loving memory ~
Audrey Cowan was born in Montreal and schooled in a convent. She met her husband Bill at Mont St. Sauveur while skiing. Together they lived, loved, and brought up their family as they travelled from the East coast of Canada to the West coast. Finally, they arrived in the Comox Valley where Audrey lived for the last 40 years.
Audrey was a great storyteller with an incredible memory and mind. She recalled ice blocks delivered to her family home for the icebox, and in her final days she was still using her iPad, iPhone and answered calls on her iWatch.
The beach was her happiest place. She enjoyed cooking, exploring restaurants, watching cooking shows and was a voracious reader. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Bill Cowan and her son Paul. She leaves behind her sons James (Susan), Michael, Glenn (Vicky), Douglas (Gyorgyi), and her daughter Janet (Sam), and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to her community at Eagle Ridge Estates, and Berwick in Comox. Special thanks to all the doctors, hospital staff, clinicians, ambulance crews, fire crews, paramedics, Red Cross, Berwick staff, Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Courtenay and VIHA Comox Team who went above and beyond to make her final days as comfortable as possible.
There will be a service at Christ of the King Catholic Church on March 11, 2025, at 11:00am. Everyone is welcome. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot make it. Just open YouTube and search CTKComox. Rather than flowers please send donations on Audrey's behalf to the Salvation Army in Comox Valley.
