In loving memory ~
JR passed away suddenly on April 21st at home in Black Creek. He will forever be missed by his wife, Penny, and his children: Chad, Jodie, and Todd (Leanne). JR had eight amazing grandchildren: Tait (Kiera), Brodie, Colton, John, Cael, Alice, Payton, and Farren. His love for family was immeasurable. Living so close to them allowed him to share his passion for sports, the outdoors, and animals.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Naida Robinson; his sister;-Vera; and his brother, Glenn. JR coached numerous soccer and baseball teams in the Comox Valley. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in numerous sports, including soccer, football, hockey, track and field, horseback riding, and lacrosse. When time and age permitted he curled, played ball and golfed.
From the age of 16 onwards, he worked outdoors, logging and road building. He was a hardworking man who owned and operated his own company, working alongside his sons and grandsons for over 25 years.
Thank you to the friends and family who sent food, flowers, and cards to support us. We would also like to mention the Island Funeral Services Director, Danny Munroe. We couldn't have asked for a more gentle, understanding director. Thank you to the first responders: ORFD, the paramedics, RCMP, and the coroner, for their prompt and kind services.
