March 15, 1934 - September 9, 2020
Anne was born March 15, 1934 at the Cumberland Hospital to Margaret (Mitch) Prain and John (Jack) Prain, who were also born in the Comox Valley. Anne passed away peacefully at Glacier View on Wednesday Sept. 9, 2020.
She was predeceased by her brother John (Johnny) Prain, sister Margaret (Dougal) Hunchuk, her son John (Jack) Fisher and daughter-in-law Lisa Stevens-Fisher. She will be dearly missed by her husband Wayne Fisher, daughter Shelley Jang, son Marshall Fisher (Jeannie Fisher), daughter Alison Fisher, as well as her grandchildren Terri- Anne Sebastian, Lindsay Jang, Stacey Jang, Brianne Jang, Stephanie Fisher, and Lauren Fisher.
She also had 8 great grandchildren, some who are too young to have gotten to know her.
Anne grew up in the Comox Valley and spent some of her happiest times with her grandmother, Lillian Mitchell, on Texada Island in the summers. She worked in the Royal Bank on 5th Street when she was 17 after the manager saw her working elsewhere and offered her a job because he was so impressed with her.
She married twice, first to Walter Robertson with whom she had 2 children and then to Major Wayne Fisher with whom she had 2 more. During the second marriage, they were posted to the maritimes and Alberta before coming home to her beloved Comox Valley in 1975.
She once again went to work at the Royal Bank, as well as the Credit Union and St. Joe's Hospital until she was unable to continue working.
She always kept busy though, reading, knitting clothes for her grandchildren, and enjoying time with her family and friends. Anne loved to travel but time with her family was her highest priority. May she rest in peace, without the pain she suffered from for so many years.
