In Loving Memory ~
Marion Emmeline Flynn (nee Fudge), born June 15, 1931, in Howley, Newfoundland passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on April 15, 2025. Marion was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Cyril (Cy) Flynn and her eldest child, Diane Webber. She is survived by her children, Janet Kupecz (Joe), Paul Flynn, Sandra Dunford (Tim), Maureen Flynn and Colleen Flynn (Dave Wood) Marion's legacy includes her much loved grandchildren, Jennifer, Patrick, Carla Krista, Kieran, Rhys and Sydney as well as great grandchildren, Logan, Sofia, Lincoln, Aiden, Lukas, Austin, Kashton and Enayah. They will all miss the wonderful, smoochy kisses from Gramma.
Marion and Cy were married in 1954 and set about raising their 6 children as they travelled throughout Canada and Europe as a proud Royal Canadian Air Force family. Everywhere they travelled these two Newfoundlanders made many life-long friends, mainly due to Marion's sunny, outgoing personality. Marion loved people and her amazing gift of hospitality became legendary with family and friends. Whenever you visited the Flynn household, you never left without a meal in your belly and leftovers to take home not to mention hugs and more hugs. Some people shake hands when greeting others, and the there are the huggers. Marion was the most generous of huggers.
From her early career days as a waitress, newspaper reporter, secretary and other admin jobs, during her child-rearing years, Marion always found a way to earn a little income and meet people. Her favourite was as a representative of Sarah Coventry jewellery. She was a walking advertisement. She love her bling and always wore her dangling earrings, necklaces and rings right up through her 93rd year.
Marion was a natural volunteer whenever needs arose, whether as member of the Catholic Women's League (CWL) or just a friend or neighbour. You could count on Marion to help where she could and always with a smile that brightened everyone's hearts. All who knew Marion were touched by her graciousness and thankfulness for any small help you gave her. To Marion you were all "sweethearts".
Marion will live on in our hearts as a loving, strong, gracious, Christian servant who lived out the words of Jesus, "This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you." John 15:12
