Our Special Marlene passed away peacefully on February 22nd in Courtenay, BC. She was predeceased by her father Sigurd, mother Ragnhild, older brother Sidney and brother-in-law Ed Gummer. She will be dearly missed by sister Agnes Gummer, brother Carl (Ginny), sister Lorraine Burns (Gerry), sister-in-law Sonja and many nieces, nephews and friends. Marlene exceeded all expectations. She was a true cat lover and adored her many 鈥渇luffies鈥�; everything 鈥渃ats鈥�. The family wishes to thank Linda Taylor for her amazing care and dedication to Marlene, Susan Bunn, Joki Winton and all the staff at the Quest Program in Courtenay for their steadfast and caring support, her recent care-giver Penny White who gave Marlene loving care, Carolyn Robertson of CLBC for her advice and counsel and her family physician, Dr. Langhans who always had Marlene鈥檚 best interests at heart. The family will hold a private celebration of her life. Marlene will rest with her mother and father at Royal Oak Cemetery in Victoria. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Marlene鈥檚 memory can be made to a charity of choice.
