Matthew David Kirkland
Matthew passed away suddenly, with his loving parents David and Silvana by his side.
He will be missed by many friends, caregivers, members of the community, cousins, aunts, and uncles, but especially by his sister Meagan (Nick Malboeuf), his brother Benjamin, his Grandma Sheila, and his Nonno Gino.
Matthew was predeceased by his Grandpa Peter Kirkland and his Nonna Anna Marcelli.
As Matthew was born in Gander, Newfoundland and passed away near his home in Comox, BC he touched lives literally across the country. He also lived in Cataumet,
Massachusetts (US), Chilliwack, BC, Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Ottawa, Ontario, and Courtenay, BC.
Matthew had an uncanny ability to put a smile on anyone's face that interacted with him. What made that gift even more phenomenal was how he could do it without saying a single word. Despite having significant mental and physical challenges, he lived life with exuberance.
Since Matthew would prefer us to celebrate rather than mourn there will be a Celebration of Life at 2708 Kendal Ave in Cumberland on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2 pm - 4 pm.
