In Loving Memory ~

Sharon Ann WOODROW (nee Smith), also known as Steffany Caldwell and Georgia Caldwell, passed away peacefully on 13 May 2025 at the North Island Hospital Comox Valley, with her loving sister, Carole Williams, and Kate Dawson by her side.

Sharon was born on 11 March 1944 at the Nanaimo General Hospital, and she was happily raised by her caring parents, Lloyd and Kathleen Smith, on their Comox Valley farm. When she was three years old her mother took her to Gwen Dalby's dancing classes. Little did she know that she had been bitten by the acting bug. Shortly after her marriage to Daniel Woodrow, she joined the Co-Val Choristers, a group that she enjoyed immensely, and during which she played many leading roles in its musical productions, all directed by a wonderful friend, Beryl Regier. Sharon and Danny had two lovely daughters, Marcia and Leah. Unfortunately, the marriage did not survive, and Sharon and Leah moved to Vancouver, while Marcia remained with her grandparents, "Nana and Poppa" Smith. It was here that she began a new life as Steffany Caldwell. She trained as a Medical Office Assistant, passed with honours, and began a rewarding 10-year career as Office Manager for Dr. Patricia Kitchener.

When her mother died, Steffany returned to Courtenay and lived with her father. Following the passing of her father, she and Leah moved to Victoria and then to Vancouver. With another new start, there was also a new name - Georgia; however, tragedy struck again in 2018 when she suffered a stroke that paralyzed her left side. Again, she returned to the Comox Valley, where she lived with her caring sister, Carole. Bad times continued, firstly with the loss of Leah from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident, and later from a fractured hip, resulting from a fall.

The accumulation of personal circumstances dictated a move to the Comox Valley Seniors Centre. Georgia resided at this facility for four years, but a series of falls led to her final hospitalization.

Whether she was known to you as Sharon, Steffany or Georgia, her last request was that a message be sent to all her wonderful, loving family and friends:

"Until We Meet Again".

Arrangements for cremation were made with the Comox Valley Funeral Home. As requested, there will be no service, and flowers are gratefully declined.
