April 12, 1932 - April 3, 2020
Our beloved Thomas Crawford passed away peacefully at a time of his own choosing surrounded by loving family members in Comox BC, April 3, 2020.
Thomas was born in Ganges, BC, April 12, 1932. Upon graduation he enlisted into the Royal Canadian Airforce. Thomas loved his career in the RCAF and he loved his country.
In 1952 Thomas met the love of his life Doreen Hadley and on April 16, 1955 in NewPort, Essex they married. Late 1955 Thomas was stricken with polio, which continued to have lasting effects for all his years to follow. In 1956 Thomas and Doreen welcomed the birth of a baby girl and as a family they spent 33 years moving across the world for his many postings of service.
Thomas was a very intelligent, gentle soul. A firm believer of note taking, researching, puzzle solving and reading. An avid bird watcher and an enthused collector of many things including rocks and fossils. His greatest experiences were the many travels around the world with his wife Doreen and spending time with his family.
Thomas is pre deceased by his loving wife Doreen of 64 years, his parents Hilda and William and brothers Jim and Richard. He is survived by daughter, Nicki (Mike) granddaughter, Christina (Wayne) great great granddaughters, Breanne (Dedo), Kaylee and his Sisters Elizabeth and Rosemary.
The following is a paragraph written by Thomas:
"Thomas wishes to thank the tireless help of his daughter and grand daughter for making his last days so enjoyable. Also thanks to his friends for tolerating his redneck chatters and to the ladies of Quality Foods in Comox for their lovely smiles. To the Comox Valley Hospital staff a special thank you for the help and support for both Thomas and Doreen in their last years. Thanks to Dr. Daws and Dr. Bullock for being there at the end...
PER ARDUA AD ASTRA...THROUGH ADVERSITY TO THE STARS"
Forever in our hearts!
