Vera Marjorie Myers was born in Dauphin, Manitoba to Earl and Marion Little. She trained as a Registered Nurse at Dauphin from 1951 to 1954 and worked for a year in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. Vera married Vernon Myers and worked at the hospital in Snow Lake, Manitoba until 1960.
From 1960 to 1967, they lived in Brandon, Manitoba, during which time Vera took Hospital Administration courses in Regina, Saskatchewan, and attended the University of Manitoba for a year.
In 1967, Vern and Vera moved to British Columbia, where she studied at the University of British Columbia for 2 1/2 years to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. They then moved to Comox, BC, where Vera worked as a Public Health Nurse for 19 years until her retirement in 1988.
Vera was predeceased by her parents Earl and Marion Little, her stepmother Margaret (née McDermit), her husband Vernon, her sister Shirley (Maurice Burdeniuk). She is survived by her nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Vera's faith and love for God provided her with strength and comfort throughout her life. She enjoyed music, various hobbies, travel, and her nursing career.
