Bigwigs out of touch with bus riders in Comox Valley

Dear editor, So the Courtenay bigwigs were out to celebrate the new, express bus service between Courtenay and Comox.

Dear editor,So the Courtenay bigwigs were out to celebrate the new, express bus service between Courtenay and Comox. They boasted that the decision to run the express buses between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. had been partly based on input from the public. It is hard to imagine that the public would not have been more interested in express service at the times when most people are going to work or coming from work, i.e. between 6 and 9 a.m., and between 3 and 6 p.m. So many cars would be taken off the roads if people could get to and from work in a reasonable time. I can only conclude that none of the people who made this decision actually use Transit to get to work, because this decision seems so divorced from reality as to be a joke. Our buses run mostly empty much of the time — so we have added more buses to run mostly empty without adding any benefit to people who could most use an express service.Where is the logic in that?
