Dear Editor,
It’s baffling how much resistance there is to infrastructure improvements in this city. Is it a superiority complex among drivers ignoring other transportation options like walking and cycling, or do some residents genuinely want to see Canada decline? Do some citizens want to see Canada have the infrastructure characteristics of a third world country?
Investing local and federal funds into infrastructure is not just logical — it’s essential. A bridge, for example, is a fundamental structure humanity has been building for thousands of years. Why is it suddenly controversial?
A city that refuses to invest in its future is one that is falling behind. It’s time to move forward.
Sincerely,
John Wilson
