Dear editor,
Another bucketload of promises, which we get every four years from all political parties vying for power.
All this gibaldygoop with figures only ensures us that the NDP can juggle figures to suit their purpose as can anyone and frankly very few of the electorate take any notice any more.
Having lived here in the Valley for the past 40 years even I have become somewhat immune to it all but, even though I am of senior years, I do still have a memory thank goodness, the third ‘thing’ to go.
I am not totally in love with our present party in power; like all parties in power they have made mistakes and to be sure the present Liberals are no exception.
But my memory does go back a few more years when the NDP party came to power and what happened in the Valley really showed what happens then.
When I travelled past the local U-Haul place there was not a U-haul truck or trailer to be seen. They had all been rented by people getting out of this province because the province had become a ‘have not’ province under the NDP incredible as it might seem, a AAA+ to a AA-.
When the Liberals came back into power the reverse happened, all the trucks and trailers returned to the valley and the U-Haul lot was full again, there was a positive outlook and hope at last after the last NDP government was ousted.
I sure hope the U-Haul lot is still full after this next election. I’ll vote for whatever party gives my kids, my province and my country the best chance at survival in these somewhat troubled times, a party that will be financially responsible as most families have to be to survive.
I don’t see this in the present NDP party.
