COMPASS ADVENTURE SAILING academy students were out in full force on the weekend.

This weekend was the start of the sailing season for Compass Adventure. Spring is just around the corner and students of the sailing academy were quick off the mark. “The warm weather and steady breeze was definitely a boost,” said Andrew Robinson, head coach for sailing programs.

Programs start over spring break and there will be water sports for everyone.

Even though regular schools are experiencing challenges, sailing school will be in full force starting mid-April.

There are still opportunities for students to get involved in the sailing academy too. “Sailing is a life skill that is unlike any other sport, and we see huge growth in students at all levels,” notes Robinson.

"With catamarans being highly profiled at the Americaʼs Cup, it just so happens that we teach exclusively catamaran sailing. We believe this will definitely make sailing one of the most popular activities here in the Comox Valley," Robinson said.

"We are blessed with great conditions for safe boating here in the Valley and given the economy as it is, the time is right for stay-at-home vacations, so get out there and enjoy everything the local area has to offer. After all we have everything," Robinson said.
