Comox Valley snowboarders were busy on both the national and international scene on the weekend.
At the Canadian Slopestyle Championships in Calgary on March 16, Darcy Sharpe from Comox was a close second behind Jon Versteeg from Vernon. Versteeg's best run of the day earned him 81.70 points while Sharpe scored 80.50.
Meanwhile, at Valmalenco, Italy on March 16, Carle Brenneman of Comox posted a ninth place finish in the final FIS snowboardcross event of the season.
It was the third-best finish for a Canadian woman at the event. Dominique Maltais was fourth and Maelle Ricker finished fifth.
