Brad Marchand scored in double overtime, leading the Florida Panthers to a key 5-4 win over the host Edmonton Oilers in Game 2 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final Friday at Rogers Place.

Marchand broke free on a partial breakaway and squeezed a shot past Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner 8:04 into the second OT. The best-of-seven series is now tied at 1-1, with Game 3 Monday night in Florida.

Marchand finished with two goals on the night, with Sam Bennett, Seth Jones and Dmitry Kulikov adding singles for the Panthers and Nate Schmidt chipping in with two assists. Evander Kane, Evan Bouchard, Corey Perry and Leon Draisaitl scored for the defending-champion Panthers, while Connor McDavid had three assists.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 41 saves to earn the win in goal for Florida. Skinner stopped 38 shots for the Oilers.

Bennett opened the scoring on a power-play 2:07 into the game, converting a nice pass from Schmidt and beating Skinner for his 13th goal of the playoffs.

Kane made it 1-1 at 7:39 of the first period, stepping in over the blue-line on the left wing and firing a shot past Bobrovsky. Kane now has six goals so far in the post-season.

Bouchard gave the Oilers their first lead of the game 9:19 into the first, when during a 4-on-4 sequence, his point shot was blocked, rebounded back to him and his long shot eluded Bobrovsky. Bouchard has seven post-season goals.

Florida pulled even at 2-2 just over two minutes later when Schmidt made a nice play to walk the blue-line, then found Eetu Luostarinen, who made a nice back-door feed to a wipe-open Jones for his fourth of the playoffs.

Edmonton took the lead again, when Draistail scored his 10th on the power-play, after some nifty dangling by McDavid.

The Oilers outshot the Panthers 14-13 in the period.

Kulikov evened the scored at 3-3 at 8:23 of the second, snapping a shot past Skinner for his second of the playoffs. Marchand gave the Panthers a 4-3 lead at 12:09, taking a breakaway feed from Anton Lundell and beating Skinner for his sixth of the post-season.

The Panthers outshot Edmonton 14-9 in the second.

With Skinner on the bench for an extra attacker, the 40-year-old Perry pulled the Oilers even at 4-4, knocking home a loose puck after a point shot from Jake Walman with just 18 seconds left in regulation. Perry has eight goals during the 2025 playoffs.

In the first overtime, the teams traded chances, with Edmonton outshooting Florida 13-9. Florida’s Sam Reinhart missed the net on a clear breakaway.

NOTES: Injured Panthers forward A.J. Greer remains out, but is expected back for Game 3. Edmonton’s Zach Hyman (dislocated wrist) is also sidelined… Florida is 11-1 when leading after two periods in 2025 playoffs… Bouchard (1-2-3) matched the NHL record for most points in a single frame in Stanley Cup Final history by a defenceman – a mark he also tied during the second period in Game 5 of the 2024 Final… Marchand scored his ninth and 10th career Final goals - one ahead of Perry atop the active player list… McDavid reached the 30-point mark for the third time in his career and second in as many post-seasons… The game was the 23rd multi-period overtime game in Cup Final history.
