Latvia native Anri Ravinskis is the newest member of the Vancouver Canucks after signing a two-year deal on Thursday, May 22.

While still early in the NHL's offseason, Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin remains busy.

On Thursday, May 22, the team announced they have signed Latvian-born forward Anri Ravinskis on a two-year, entry-level contract.

The 22-year-old spent the 2024-25 campaign splitting time between Ketterä (Mestis) and HPK (Liiga) in the two professional Finnish leagues. In 23 games with Ketterä he collected 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) before added 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) in 27 games with HPK.

“Anri is a player our group has been watching closely this year in Finland and more recently at the World Hockey Championships in Sweden,” said Allvin in a press release. “Finding European free agents like Anri is a good way for our organization to improve its depth. We like his size and body type and look forward to helping him refine his skills and get used to the North American pro game.”

Before his time in Finland, Ravinskis played two seasons for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In that time, he recorded 54 points (29 goals, 25 assists) and 39 penalty minutes in 98 games. He also collected a goal and three assists in 10 playoffs games.

Ravinskis just finished representing Latvia at the 2025 World Hockey Championships and have also played in the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Hockey Championships, the 2021 Division 1 Group A World Junior Hockey Championships, and at the 2021 U18 World Championships.
