The Comox Valley Cycling Coalition will have a couple of special guest presentations included in its upcoming annual general meeting.
Rick and Julie Howell share their experience exploring La Route Verte, a world-class cycling infrastructure in the province of Quebec. The presentation will include a look at the origin and evolution of Vélo Quebec’s collaborative project, along with trail options and amenities along this 5,300 km route. Photos and stories punctuate this overview of one of Canada’s rich historic, cultural and scenic treasures.
Jim Smiley and Denise Savoie with Friends of Rails to Trails bring you an update on the potential for a multi-use trail between Nanaimo and Courtenay and share the request made to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Clare Trevena, for a study on the potential economic benefits of such a trail.
The Comox Valley Cycling Coalition has exciting progress to report on both cycling advocacy and education over the past year. Its 10-year AGM will bring you up to date and inspire you to continue your support for our volunteer organization.
The event will be at the Florence Filberg Centre in the Conference Hall on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Please come a few minutes early if membership renewal is needed. Members and non-members are welcome.
