The annual plant sale for the Cumberland Community Forest takes place Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.
The plant sale is back at its original location on the corner of 3rd and Derwent in Cumberland - 2731 Derwent Ave.
The sale will have beautiful perennials, veggie starts, drought-tolerant plants, shade trees, fruit trees and raspberry canes, medicinal plants and hardy native plants and shrubs.
We also have dahlia tubers, hostas, irises, ornamental grasses, hens and chicks, nandina heavenly bamboo, juniper, snake bark maple, sumachs, hydrangeas, plus many more, including house plants.
This is always a popular event with some hidden gems - so be there for a 10 a.m. start - no early birds.
All proceeds this year go to buying the forests and sensitive habitat around Perserverance Creek in Cumberland - this is the next Cumberland Community Forest Society purchase. For more information about the plant sale, contact 250-336-8921.
Plant donations still welcome.
If you are a Cumberland resident we suggest you bring a wheelbarrow to carry home all your plants.
