Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa鈥檚 Serenity Gardens has once again been transformed into an enchanting display of lights, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, admission into the gardens - which doubles as a YANA fundraiser - will be limited.
Running to the end of January 2021, hundreds of thousands of lights will adorn the gardens igniting a magical setting. However, the walkabout, which doubles as a fundraiser for YANA, will only be accessible to guests staying at the resort, and those with restaurant or spa reservations, to ensure adequate spacing.
鈥淭his year we would love to invite guests who have a restaurant reservation, spa booking or coming for a staycation, to take in the magic of the Winter Light display,鈥� said general manager Aaron Greasley. 鈥淲e would like to thank our incredible community in advance for their understanding in ensuring that the health and safety of our community is first.鈥�
The inaugural Kingfisher Winter Light Display in 2019 was hugely successful.
鈥淟ast year there were crowds of guests taking in our spectacular display of lights on weekends and over the holidays,鈥� said Greasley. 鈥淲e were so proud of the display to support YANA Comox Valley, which ended up raising $10,000 for such an incredible charity. We also had and received such wonderful praise and appreciation from all our resort guests.鈥�
YANA (You Are Not Alone) is a local charity offering help to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical treatment for a child or for a pregnant mother. YANA improves access to healthcare by providing travel funding and accommodation for families of babies to teens, and all ages in between.
Although COVID-19 restrictions have forced the resort to limit access to the gardens for 2020, it will continue to accept donations on behalf of YANA Comox Valley.
The Serenity Gardens Winter light display will have new features this year! Stand among glowing, towering conifers, cherry blossom trees, weeping willows, shimmering tulips, illuminated grasses, 10-foot tall dandelions and so many more spectacular light features.
