In celebration of Asian Heritage Month in Canada, the Comox Valley Multicultural Society and Maple Pool Campsite co-hosted an evening of high-flying acrobatics featuring the Taiwan Acrobatic Performing Troupe.
A packed house was treated to a spectacular show, Friday, May 26 at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
“Bravo to all the volunteers, staff of the sports centre, lighting and sound system technicians and the company that installed the flooring for performing,” said organizer, Jin Lin. “Thank you to the acrobatic troupe who visited Comox Valley to share the Taiwan culture with us. Special thanks to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Vancouver, and Taiwan Overseas Community Affair Council, for their assistance to bring the Taiwan Acrobatic Troupe over to Courtenay.
“Lastly, bravo to all of the audience. Your cautiousness kept everyone safe, and your generosity enabled us to invite numerous less fortunate individuals and families to watch the unforgettable show with us.”
The net profit from the show will go to the Comox Valley Multicultural Society’s bursary fund, which gives out four $500 bursaries each year.
“Many millions thanks to your enthusiastic support, your thundering applauses and smiling faces touched my heart,” said Lin, who sent the following photo gallery to the Record for use.
