Members of St. John the Divine Anglican Church invite the public to help with the annual cleanup of St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
“Join us in actively celebrating the lives and legacies of all who are buried at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, the site of many war graves, and the place of rest for a number of community settler and veteran families,” said church administrator Ginny Alliston, in a press release.
“Every year, friends and family gather in the Garry Oak meadow at the corner of Dingwall and McQuillan roads to volunteer a few hours raking leaves and generally cleaning up the area in preparation for Remembrance Day services at the ‘Little White Church on the Hill.’ The entire community is invited to join us to continue the tradition on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a rain or shine event, so dress appropriately and bring your favourite garden tools (wheelbarrows specifically needed this year). There will be no refreshments due to COVID safe practices.”
