The final day of the outdoor pool season at The Courtenay and District Memorial Outdoor Pool at Lewis Park was one for the dogs.
Pooch-A-Poolooza 2018 attracted dozens of dogs, and twice as many curious onlookers.
鈥淚t鈥檚 the last day of the pool being open, so we鈥檝e invited all the pups to come down and have a good time at the pool,鈥� said Jed McPherson, animal care attendant, Comox Valley SPCA. 鈥淭he turnout [was] about the same [as 2017] but they were here quicker this year.鈥�
Woofy鈥檚 was the sponsor of the event, which doubled as a fundraiser for the Comox Valley SPCA. Admission was by donation.
McPherson said he recognized a few of the dogs that showed up.
鈥淭here鈥檚 definitely a few that I know for a fact that come from our shelter, but there鈥檚 a lot that I recognize only because one chocolate lab looks like another chocolate lab. After a while, they all blend together.鈥�
