The Town of Comox and its fire service partner, the Comox Fire Protection District, has authorized the replacement of the fire department鈥檚 aging aerial truck. Comox Fire Rescue has operated a fleet of three fire engines since the 1950s and instead of adding to the fleet, the recommendation is to keep the machines current and utilizing the latest technology.

Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner was recently presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award through the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce. Presented with the award at the Jan. 29 Chamber Awards Gala, the Lifetime Achievement Award honours an individual who provides outstanding service in the community and demonstrates a lifetime of achievement over 20 years or more in the Comox Valley.
